Narissa was born and raised in the rural and remote town of Mount Isa, Queensland. Having passion for life and making the most of every minute, she has paved herself an incredible journey. Being born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy and given a life expectancy of 15 years of age, Narissa’s ability to get out and about has been via a wheelchair and is dependant on breathing devices. She is passionate and committed to challenging preconceived attitudes and stigmas of people with disabilities.
Narissa moved south in 2004 to the Sunshine Coast where she completed a Bachelors degree in Information Technology (e-commerce &; design). In 2007, Narissa completed the Sunshine Coast Youth Partnership’s, Future Leader’s program. A leader in her own right, she has worked with leading media and design agencies, been self employed, lived independently and broken barriers for people with a disabilities.
